Pacific Power Offers #UCCStrong Employee Match
PacifiCorp to match donations from all 6,600 employees throughout the west
Roseburg, OR (October 5, 2015) — In response to last week’s tragedy at Umpqua Community College, Pacific Power has announced a $25,000 grant and an employee donation match for the Umpqua Community College Family Relief Fund (#UCCStrong Fund).
Pacific Power Regional Business Manager Diana Knous says, “Pacific Power is a long time member of the community. We want to support our community members in this time of tragedy. We have thousands of employees that feel the same and want to do all we can.”
Pacific Power, a subsidiary of PacifiCorp, employs 1,700 people in Oregon, Washington, and California. However, the matching grant will allow all 6,600 PacifiCorp employees in the additional states of Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho to have their donations matched.
Pacific Power Operations Manager Bob Ferguson says, “What happened last week affects all of us on different levels. Our employees are extremely supportive of any and all efforts for these families.”
In fact, Pacific Power employees are inviting the community to join them in welcoming students and staff back to the UCC campus when it reopens at 7:30 a.m., Monday, October 12.
Knous says, “We will have line trucks and a boom displaying a massive American flag at the intersection of Highway 99 and Umpqua College Road. We hope the road is lined with people in a show of support for everyone at UCC.”
Greater Douglas United Way is helping coordinate and publicize efforts to grow the Umpqua Community College Family Relief Fund, now known as the #UCCStrong Fund.
100% of deposits to the account through the United Way will go to the #UCCStrong Fund.
